Who hasn’t heard of Super Mario?  Unless you’ve been under a rock for the last 25 years, everyone knows Mario!  He’s Nintendo’s most recognizable mascot, has sold over 240 million video games and holds seven world records! 

This week according to Nintendo themselves, the game that put Mario on the map turns 25! Released on September 13, 1985, Super Mario Bros. quickly became the top-selling video game of all time, a title it would hold right up until last year when it was passed by Wii Sports.

This anniversary couldn’t have come at a better time of year!  With Halloween being only a month away, what better way to celebrate this silver anniversary than to wear a Super Mario Adult Costume!

It’s “Cheeseburgers in Paradise” all over again as Jimmy Buffett rolls into Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio tonight with his “Under The Big Top Tour”!  The Parrothead Nation is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary as it marks a milestone in Margaritaville.  It was at a June, 1985 concert at Timberwolf at Kings Island that the term “Parrothead” was coined.

This concert tonight is in it’s 42nd year at Riverbend and it sells out within minutes after the tickets go on sale.  The people of Cincinnati and Kentucky go crazy with the Hawaiian shirts, leis, grass skirts, straw hats and bermuda shorts.  

Blow up sharks and beach balls are bouncing over the crowd of people the entire time while shark fin costumes are everywhere.  Nothing is too crazy for the Parrothead Nation!

The Margarita’s will be flowing and Jimmy Buffet will be singing…it doesn’t get any better than that!

April 1st is known as April Fool’s Day or “All Fool’s Day” throughout the Western world.  It’s a day of playing pranks and harmless jokes on some of your nearest and dearest family and friends.

It’s best to play the prank early in the day because once your “prey” is reminded of it being April 1st they don’t usually fall for it so easily.  Pranks can be from a mild form of “your shoe is untied” to a little more mean spirited prank of “running late for work only to find your car had been towed.”  That is not the way you want to start your morning (especially when your friends really did have your car towed).  

The old school pranks are always the best! 

The infamous whoopie cushion always gets a huge laugh especially in an improper setting such as a library, a church pew or a board meeting with your esteemed colleagues.  Speaking of work, put a ”while you were out” message on your co-workers desk that a ”Mr. Lyon” called and wants to be called back.  Then list the phone number of the local zoo. 

Just remember, April 1 is April Fool’s Day; it falls on a Thursday this year.  Mark it in your calendar.  That way you’ll be the one giving the prank and not the one receiving it!
