Every Halloween we see more and more, shall we say…crude costumes that fall along the line of humorous.  Now, when I say “crude, indecent, obscene, lewd” remember, it’s all in the eye of the beholder!

Funny costumes are just that – funny!  They make people laugh, which is exactly the point of a humorous costume.  And for some reason the raunchier the better!  Nothing is off limits!     

While women lean more toward buying costumes that make them look sexy, men lean more toward buying costumes simply for the shock value they give, especially college kids and young adults. 

For instance, two costumes that come to mind for men; the Beer Schlong Costume and the Lumber Jack Woodpecker Costume, pretty much give you the idea of what is supposed to shock you.  However, not only are the costumes funny but convenient as well.  In the Lumber Jack Woodpecker costume the long piece of wood “pecker” serves two purposes, (1) the intended purpose of making the man seem like he’s extremely well endowed, and (2) the wood unzips to hold two beverage cans.  The same with the Beer Schlong costume.   So you could say the costumes are both crude and a cooler!

Every year our neighborhood rents out the community center and throws a huge adult costume party the weekend before Halloween.  Since the holiday falls on Sunday this year, it worked out perfectly to have it Saturday night.  We’ve been going to it for a few years now and it’s always a lot of fun!

This year my husband and I decided to go as a pilot and flight attendant.  The twist is that I’ll be the pilot and he’ll be the flight attendant!  Since it is an adult only costume party the costumes can be a little sexy, a little raunchy and a lot of adult humor with the funnier costumes!  For my costume I went with the Mile High Captain costume.  It’s sexy and fun!  My husband is going to squeeze himself (I might have to get him some Spanx Shapewear) into the Flight Attendant costume.  I got him a pair of white knee-high boots that should top the outfit off perfectly.  Whether or not he’ll be able to walk in them is another question!

Game night was always big at our house when I was growing up. Every Friday or Saturday night, one of us would pick out a board game and we’d play it together as a family with my mom and dad.  As we got older, everyone was off doing their own things on the weekends so the family game nights slowly came to an end.  However, to this day I love board games and I’m glad that they were a part of my life growing up. 

In today’s world of gaming, we have the Internet, Xbox, Wii, Play Station…and not to mention all the other hand held games and IPhones, but I don’t care what anyone says, you cannot beat the old school board games!  They actually make you socialize face-to-face with the other players (which is a good thing), they’re portable and never need batteries and they cost next to nothing compared to an Xbox game!

Candyland and Chutes and Ladders were some of the first games I remember playing with my brothers and sisters.  The older we got Monopoly, Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit came into play and they are still so fun to play to this day!

How much fun would it be to go as one of your favorite Hasbro board games as a Halloween costume this year?  Everyone will love it!  Did you always want to be the banker when you played Monopoly?  Wanted to buy Boardwalk and Park Place?  Well now you can be have it all when you wear the Hasbro Monopoly Costume.  You can be Miss Moneybags Banker and win the game!

Those animated characters make for the perfect costumes for adults that want to take one day out of the year (Halloween) to not grow up!  How much fun would it be to go as a toy you and your friends played with as children?

Society has come a long way in its current version of mascots.  Early accounts of masked creatures, often resembling animals were drawn or etched on cave walls and depicted in ancient art. Today, mascots are seen as artists and entertainers with traits that now make it an art form.  Great mascots do not learn their stage presence from a classroom; it’s all as they say, “on-the-job training”.  The person must be able to put their individuality aside and really get into character; become one with the character.  This is crucial to being a believable mascot that people adore!  Mascots are especially popular with children.

The more personable a mascot is, the more approachable they will be.  Plus they will be loved by fans of all ages.  The position of mascot commands a lot of power over crowds at games. They have the ability to get the fans on their feet and cheer them on to victory!
