Old Tyme Baseball Player Adult CostumeMemorial Day weekend has come and gone and summer is right around the corner.  The pools have opened, the schools have closed and everyone is ready for some summer fun.

One of America’s favorite past times is the sport of Major League Baseball.  Fans flock to the stadiums to watch their favorite professional teams battle it out for the top position in the American and National Leagues.  The unofficial anthem to baseball, ”Take Me Out To The Ballgame”, the seventh inning stretch, stadium hot dogs, peanuts and ice cold beer all come together in baseball stadiums across the country to make baseball what it is today.

Baseball in the 1920'sBaseball became popular in this country in the early 19th century when many sources report the growing popularity of a game called “townball”, “base” or “baseball”.   And what better holiday to showcase your love of the game and its origins then Halloween.  A holiday where we can dress in the old style uniforms of collarless jerseys, pantaloons and knickers.  The Old Tyme Baseball Player Costume is a throw-back to the 1920′s and a great way to relive the days when baseball was first and foremost in every one’s minds.

Have fun this Halloween by dressing up as a true baseball player from the 1920′s!

Russell Crowe in Robin Hood

For his 21st century Robin Hood, director Ridley Scott may have gotten rid of the notorious green tights and feathered cap, but the rugged good looks and sexiness is still there played by none other than the gorgeous Russell Crowe.  Ridley Scott also directed Russell in the movie, Gladiator which is why he wanted Robin Hood portrayed as a “sharp-witted, tough-minded badass who knows how to handle his weaponry”.  Wow, that sounds a lot like Russell’s character, Maximus in Gladiator!

I’ve always loved movies like this, so I’m looking forward to seeing it on the big screen.  It’s being released tomorrow, so I don’t have long to wait!

I thought Kevin Costner was great in “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” back in 1991, but I’m thinking Russell Crowe may just have an edge over him on the whole Robin Hood image.  I’ve seen Gladiator 100 times, so this is one movie I’m not going to miss!

I have a feeling that Robin Hood costumes are going to be pretty hot this year!  From little boys to men, Robin Hood is going to be the new superhero of Halloween costumes!

When I think of Wonder Woman, I think of Lynda Carter in that amazing form-fitting costume from the television series that aired for three seasons from 1975 – 1979.  I’m pretty sure at one point or another every one of my friends have gone to a Halloween party dressed in a Wonder Woman costume.  Believe me, between the sexy costume, gold tiara and thigh-high boots, it’s one outfit that’s sure to get you noticed!

Wonder Woman is by far the most recognizable female super hero ever!  With her trademark star spangled costume of red, white and blue along with her infamous golden lasso, it’s no surprise she is the most successful female superhero of all time!

A psychologist by the name of William Moulton Marston created Wonder Woman during World War II in a reaction to what he saw as male dominated DC Comics Superheros.  He wanted a female superhero to even out the sexes with Captain America on the battlefield and by creating Wonder Woman he did just that.

Wonder Woman is one of the founding members of the Justice League of America in the DC Comic Universe along with Superman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter.  Pretty cool that she’s the ONLY female among that list!  Later DC Comics brought on some more female superheroes, but none that could ever compare in popularity to the one and only, Wonder Woman!
