Halloween is celebrated the world over in many ways and is consistently referred to as “the day of the dead souls”, when the undead spirits walk among the living. It is also one of the oldest holidays dating back to Pagan times. Villagers believed that wearing scary costumes and offering special treats were the way to welcome the spirits and avoid their wrath.
To some extent that is still true today. Not so much the part about avoiding the wrath of the dead souls, but wearing scary costumes and offering treats is definitely the Halloween we know and love.
When we think of Halloween a few words come to mind; haunted, horror and evil. Haunted houses, gruesome graveyards and adult horror costumes are all a big part of what makes up the Halloween holiday.
The scary factor is what makes Halloween so much fun!
Dressing up in horror costumes to celebrate October 31st is also a lot of fun! Witches, ghosts, zombies and every evil character that has ever graced the big screen are sure to make appearances at Halloween costume parties, night clubs and neighborhood get-togethers. Keep the tradition of wearing scary costumes this year for Halloween; you’ll make our ancestors proud!
