
Anyone who has seen the movie Animal House, remembers Bluto,(played by John Belushi) and the infamous frat house Toga party! That movie was released back in 1978 and still today the “Toga Party” is as popular as ever. A little fyi – the line, “Toga! Toga!” was chosen #82 on the American Film Institutes list of America’s 100 Greastest Movie Quotes of All Time.
One reason Toga parties are so popular is that besides the fact that they are so much fun, the costumes you need to wear are really cheap and easy to make! A simple white sheet is all you need. To top off your toga look don’t forget your headpiece or your roman sandals. What you wear under your toga is completely up to you!

Society has come a long way in its current version of mascots. Early accounts of masked creatures, often resembling animals were drawn or etched on cave walls and depicted in ancient art. Totem poles were filled with likenesses of animals in ancient cultures. These likenesses are much like the concept of the team mascots evident on football fields and basketball courts. Usually in ancient times the history of mascots’ shows that these likenesses were often worshiped.
